Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a dream vacation shouldn't feel like a second job.

At Tenedor Travel, we take vacation planning off your plate. Whether you’re chasing the perfect meal in San Sebastián or a milestone celebration in the Rockies, we handle the logistics so you can savor the moment. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about how we craft your “made-from-scratch” itinerary.

We can ensure every traveler has a unique,  high-quality, personalized trip.  Each itinerary is extensively researched. There is nothing cookie-cutter about our process.

For travel to Spain, we are certified Spain Travel specialists.  We know Spain having lived and traveled extensively there. We have in-country partners to add additional knowledge and expertise to our own.

The internet is full of options, but it’s short on context. We provide the “vibe check” that an algorithm can’t. By working with us, you gain access to our vetted global network, VIP perks (like room upgrades and breakfast credits), and the peace of mind that comes with 24/7 support. We don’t just book a room; we curate an experience.

Our fees ensure we work exclusively for you, acting as a “fiduciary” for your vacation. While we earn commissions from some partners, this fee covers the high-touch expertise required to build a seamless, personalized itinerary.

What’s included:

  • Professional Expertise: Hours of research and meticulous logistics.

  • White-Glove Service: Dedicated support from our first call until you return home.

  • Seamless Travel: Immersive itinerary design, including air, cruise, transfer and rail bookings.

Simply put: You aren’t just buying a trip; you’re investing in a flawless experience where your interests always come first.

You can book a trip on your own, but “can” doesn’t always mean “should.” Our clients have busy lives who value their time. We save you dozens of hours of research and protect you from “DIY disappointment”—those moments when a hotel looks great online but fails in person. We find the hidden gems you didn’t even know to look for.

My fee ensures I’m working for you, not just the suppliers. That way, you get unbiased recommendations that are truly in your best interest.”

The commission I may receive from suppliers covers booking the components, but not the custom strategy, research, curation, and personalized service I provide you.

The design fee covers:

  • My time sourcing the perfect experiences for your style and preferences.
  • The hours I spend building a seamless itinerary with logistics that work.
  • My industry knowledge and connections that elevate your trip.

Travel planning has evolved, and so has the role of the travel advisor. Today, people are overwhelmed by choice, and they’re looking for expertise and time savings.

My fee reflects the custom, white-glove service I provide and ensures that I can devote time to creating an itinerary that’s thoughtful, inspired, and aligned with you—not a copy-paste of someone else’s vacation.”

My design process is collaborative. I start with a call and questionnaire to understand your goals, and I present ideas at each step for your feedback.

If after the initial consultation you feel we’re not the right fit, no problem. But in most cases, my clients find the planning experience just as enjoyable as the trip itself—because it’s theirs, not a generic template.”

While we have a deep passion for culinary travel (and we believe food is the best way to know a culture!), we are first and foremost experts in Experience. Whether your focus is wellness, adventure, or history, we apply the same “made-from-scratch” process to ensure your trip aligns with your personal interests.

In high season (time of year varies by destination) we need six months notice but a year in advance is not too early to engage us.

Our bucket list is extensive.  But if we haven’t yet been to your dream destination, we work with travel partners all over the world with on-ground knowledge and expertise to build your custom itinerary.

We make money from itinerary design fees clients pay us upfront.  This compensates us for our time to research, create and book your custom itinerary.  We are also paid commissions from travel suppliers once our clients have completed their travel.

A travel advisor provides a more comprehensive process to travel than a travel agent.  This starts with a thorough research and itinerary building process to support to the client while traveling.    From the discovery call to the return from travel, a travel advisor is a collaborative partner to their client.
